Sagarmatha was in the Matanuska Tundra cycle of speed production when some friends needed to stash a number of grey Mist plants. There was extra space in the room with the Matanuska females where the lady Grey Mist plant took refuge. The two strains made a handsome couple, so the breeders agreed to hybridize them. "Matanuska Mist" was the obvious name for their offspring, but after looking at the mature plant's turquoise leaves and tasting her deliciously minty smoke, Sagarmatha's staff changed the name to Matanuska Mint. Matanuska Mint's leaves display an even balance of sativa length and indica thickness. Likewise, her stone displays a bit of both influences. She has been grown outdoors on America's Pacific Coast from Eugene down to Santa Cruz. Indoors, Matanuska Mint gives best results when vegetated until she shows 4-7 internodes, then grown as a multi-branch plant reaching 1-1.5 meters (3/4 feet) in height. both soil and hydro are acceptable media. Matanuska Mint's buds get crystalline and greasy. They are firm to the touch and about the size of a big cigar, giving off a sharp whiff of mint when squeezed. This is strong, fast weed that starts working after one or two tokes, and smokers may feel their eyes droop at the onset, but this is followed by a brain nova of happy energy that rides above the body stone for several hours. Perfect for a fun night out, this buzz suits playtime activities better than working hours. The menthol-like smoke goes down smooth and expands the lungs, giving it some medicinal potential for opening the airways.
