Skunk #1 seeds are the direct and unadulterated descendants of the stable hybrid Skunk #1 that was created in California in the late 1970s and brought to Holland in 1985. Despite the name, this variety none of the acrid smell usually associated with pure Afghani strains. "The Pure" has a sweet smell and a full, satisfying taste. Skunk #1 is a 75 percent sativa with a modified sativa appearance - it stays shorter than most sativas with leaves that are few and large, and short internodes. The big flowers range in color from lime green to gold at harvest. Although the buds are dense, they allow enough airflow to avoid mold problems. Resistance to mold makes The Pure a perfect variety for greenhouse cultivation where high-quality, heavy dense buds and uniformity are essential. The Afghani parent speeds up the finishing time to 8 weeks indoors. Flying Dutchmen regularly yields 500 grams per square meter when growing this variety in a greenhouse in soil. They recommend using all-organic medium and fertilizer for the highest quality results.
